FORT WAYNE MUSEUM OF ART FIELD TRIP

Fort Wayne Museum of Art (FWMoA)

Pre-K students will learn connections between art and storytelling (visual literacy) through lessons pairing artwork housed at the FWMoA with a book. Students will then visit FWMoA or host a museum guest to see and discuss artwork and learn museum etiquette.

Students will design, create and market their own tiny house.

BIZ TOWN

Junior Achievement

Students will explore careers, business and civic opportunities to prepare for their field trip to JA Biztown. At Biztown, they will experience how businesses and community resources work together to support residents.

Students will rotate through three activities during their visit:

• Working on a Sim Spray machine to spray paint a car door (Trades)
• Perform an oil change on a VR headset (Technology and Trades)
• Work on a laparoscopic surgery simulator to remove gallstones and draw blood from a rubberized arm (Health Sciences)

FINANCE PARK
Junior Achievement

Students will take on roles of people in a community to develop a personal budget including expenses for housing, food, savings, transportation, entertainment, health care, utilities, clothing and education.

SPEECH CONTEST
Community Partner based on school location

Students will build around the following question: what matters to you? Students are encouraged to develop civic awareness by identifying a local community issue, or need, that they care about. Through crafting this speech, students will develop their awareness of their community’s dynamics and also develop a sense of civic responsibility.

STADIUM TOUR
Fort Wayne TinCaps

Students will visit the Fort Wayne TinCaps to explore the wide range of careers that keep a minor league baseball team running. From marketing and ticket sales to groundskeeping and game-day operations, students got a behind-the-scenes look at how teamwork off the field supports the excitement on it.

JOB SHADOW
Various Partners

Students will participate in a job shadow within a career field of their choice that aligns to their School of Success and CTE Pathway.

JA IGNITE CAREER FAIR
Junior Achievement & Various Partners

Students will participate in the Career Expo hosted by Junior Achievement.

3DE PITCH DAY & MARKET EXPO DAY
Junior Achievement & Various Partners

Students will participate in two 3DE case studies and coaching sessions. During the innovation showcase, students will present their entrepreneurial ideas to industry experts to garner support. In the spring, students will share those products with consumers at Market Expo Day.
