Students will rotate through three activities during their visit:
- Working on a Sim Spray machine to spray paint a car door (Trades)
- Perform an oil change on a VR headset (Technology and Trades)
- Work on a laparoscopic surgery simulator to remove gallstones and draw blood from a rubberized arm (Health Sciences)
FINANCE PARK
Junior Achievement
Students will take on roles of people in a community to develop a personal budget including expenses for housing, food, savings, transportation, entertainment, health care, utilities, clothing and education.
SPEECH CONTEST
Community Partner based on school location
Students will build around the following question: what matters to you? Students are encouraged to develop civic awareness by identifying a local community issue, or need, that they care about. Through crafting this speech, students will develop their awareness of their community’s dynamics and also develop a sense of civic responsibility.
STADIUM TOUR
Fort Wayne TinCaps
Students will visit the Fort Wayne TinCaps to explore the wide range of careers that keep a minor league baseball team running. From marketing and ticket sales to groundskeeping and game-day operations, students got a behind-the-scenes look at how teamwork off the field supports the excitement on it.
