Student & Staff Relations

The Student & Staff Relations team provides training and educates staff on concepts such as cultural agility, so they feel empowered to connect with all students and families. 

• New Teacher Orientation
• Onboarding for every new employee
• Monthly professional learning for principals, assistant principals, district leadership, school therapists, school counselors, administrative assistants and case managers
• Monthly professional learning for first and second-year teachers
• Monthly professional learning for participants of the Transition to Teaching program
• Onboarding and continued professional learning for all Student Advocates
• Professional learning upon request by building or department leader
   

We use the following data points while supporting schools and departments in FWCS and embracing all representations of our district and community.

• Human Resources (Employee count, demographics, retention/attrition)
• Discipline
• Attendance 
• Grades
• Disproportionality 
• Test scores
• Culture and climate survey 
   

After assessing specific data points we collaborate with unit and department heads to set goals and professional learning pathways

• Utilize protocol for examining data
• Provide culturally responsive professional learning opportunities
• Support implementation of culturally responsive strategies
   

 FWCS recognizes the value for meaningful relationships with those we serve, particularly our students. We provide support to schools that desire to create mentorship models in their schools. The focus on students prioritizes the following:
